There must have been a papal dispensation for this marriage as they were in the 2nd and 3rd degrees of consanguinity. He was either her great uncle, her nephew or her first cousin.

16 Sept 1470 - resigned the Earldom of Orkney to the King and received Ravenscraig in Fife.
7 Dec 1476 - resigned the Earldom of Caithness in favour of William, eldest son of his second wife, but holding the life-rent.

William was a minor at his father's death and was formally invested as the Earl of Orkney on 12 Aug. 1434 by Eric, King of Norway.

He was a hostage for James I and allowed to return to Scotland in 1421. He was Admiral of Scotland and conveyed Princess Margaret of Scotland to France for her marriage to the Daupin in 1436.

William was a Lord of Parliament from 1449 as "Lord Sinclair".

He was Ambassador to England 1471-1473

William had a diploma of succession issued by the Bishop of Orkney and others in 1443 in response to a demand by Christian, King of Norway, for authentic evidence of his descent. (GEC, X/93-97)

There should be a dispensation for this marriage as they were first cousins once removed. According to Hay's Genealogie, this couple actually married twice. Their first marriage was annulled on the grounds on consanguinity and affinity, however they then sought a dispensation and married again. (p. 26) 46

There does not appear to have been any issue from this marriage, however, I would not, at this point, rule out the possibility.
