27. Henry ST. CLAIR 2nd Earl Of Orkney ^1,2,4,16 (Henry Lord Of Roslin, Earl Of Orkney (Prince)²¹, William Of Roslin¹⁸, William Of Roslin (Sir)¹⁶, Henry Of Roslin (Sir)¹⁵, William (Sir)¹¹, Henri¹⁰, Henri⁹, William⁸, Henri⁷, Henri³, William 'The Seemly'², Walderne¹) was born in 1362 in Orkney Islands, Orkney, Scotland⁴ and died on 1 Feb 1420,⁴ at age 58.

Henry was captured at the battle of Halidon Hill in 1402 and released probably before 24 Jan 1403-04 when he was granted an exemption from castle-guard in his baronies of Roslin etc. St. Clair's of the Isles mistakenly attributes this charter to his father, who was definitely deceased by 1402 when this Henry was known as the Earl.

28 May 1405 he attested a charter of Robert III at Linlithgow.

1405/1406 Henry sailed for France with Prince James, who Robert II had commited to his care. They were captured at sea on 22 March 1405/6 and sent to the tower.

1407 Henry was given a safe conduct to return to Scotland with 12 attendants on the surety that he would be back at Durham or wherever the King was by Christmas. Also in 1407/08 he had a warrant for himself and 2 of his esquires and 8 companions for safe conduct until Pentecost.; also one granted till Midsummer for his ship, a merchant, the ship's master and crew to trade in the King's dominion.

1409 Henry was involved in the negotiations for the release of James, who was now King.

1412 he went to France with the Earl of Douglas.

He died in 1420 of influenza.

Henry married Egidia DOUGLAS Countess Of Orkney,^1,2,4,16 daughter of Sir William DOUGLAS Of Nithsdale ^1,2,4 and Egidia (Jill) STEWART,^1,2,4,11 in 1407.⁴ Egidia died after 1420.⁴

Henry and Egidia had a papal dispensation for their marriage as they were in the 2nd and 3rd degree of relationship.

Taken prisoner at Homildon Hill on 14 Sept 1402. Ransom was refused by King Henry IV and so he remained a prisoner in England where he died of the plague.

George married Mary STEWART,^1,2,4,22 daughter of King Robert III, Robert STEWART 1st Duke Of Albany ^1,2,4,11 and Annabella DRUMMOND,^1,2,11 on 24 May 1387. Mary was born after 1367.
