Welcome to My Corner of the World

Hi, I’m Gary Patton — a bloke who’s spent over 40 years learning, working, and creating across a mix of industries and experiences. From my early days as a soldier and service station attendant to years behind the wheel as an MC road train operator, and through to roles in management and training, I’ve learned that every job teaches you something valuable about people, patience, and persistence.

Work, Life, and Lessons Along the Way

I’ve been lucky enough to work in positions that challenged me and taught me a lot — from running national training programs to managing assets and leading teams across Australia. I’ve also owned and run my own business, which gave me a real appreciation for the balance between hard work, good people, and honest communication.

Those experiences, along with qualifications in Training and Assessment and Occupational Health & Safety, have helped shape the way I approach work and life — with a focus on doing things properly, looking out for others, and finding better ways to get the job done.

Music has always been a big part of who I am. Through garypattonmusic and From The Heart Records, I write and share songs inspired by life on the road, my family’s history, and the moments that make us stop and think. It’s not about fame — it’s about stories, connections, and leaving something meaningful behind for my family and anyone who finds a bit of themselves in my music.

When I’m not working or writing music, I love digging into family history. Over the years, I’ve helped people around the world trace their roots and understand the lives that came before them. It’s rewarding work, and it reminds me that every one of us is part of a much bigger story.
