Thomas was born at Lee Street in Carlton where he attended the Princes Hill School as a child.
He was known as Pop Lennox by his grandchildren. His parents both died at a very young age, his mother was only 28 and his father was only 30.
It is not known as to the timing, or space between their deaths.
Prior to the Depression he had a General Store in Mt. Alexander Road in Flemington.
In later years he had a small 'stall' or kiosk where he used to sell snacks and cigarettes, in the old Ampol building which was opposite the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Melbourne, VIC.
The Lennox family name has an established a link back to Mary Queen of Scots (anecdotal evidence only).

Mavis was known by her children as Mum and by her grandchildren and her Great-Granchildren as Grandma. She used to work in a textiles factory in Coburg in Melbourne.
Mavis was the Great-Grand-Daughter of William George Edward Barron, the first white / european child to be born in Western Australia. His father was an Irish Army Colour Sargeant, Col. Sgt. Edward Hugh Barrow who was posted to the colonies and opened the first tavern, dairy & bakery in Perth, Western Australia.. His story is included in Mavis' information.
Edward Barron was Colour Sergeant of the 63rd regiment. He, his wife Jane and three children, Jane, Eliza & Mary Ann arrived on the "Sulphur".
Another boy, born in the new colony was reputed to be the first white child born here.
When they settled in Perth, Jane Barron took out an Inn licence for the "Wheat SheafÓ tavern , the first tavern in Perth.
Even the first meetings of the Perth Council were held at the Tavern .......Meetings of the Town Trust and later of the City Council were held each month, the Chairman being elected at the annual ratepayers' meeting. These meetings had to be held wherever opportunity offered. They were held in turn at the Court House, the Commercial Hotel and the United Services Tavern. Dictionary of Western Australians 1829-1914 compiled by Pamela Stratham (Volume 1 - 1829 1850) includes the following information.
BARRON Edward b. 1796. Arrived with the 63rd Regiment as colour sergeant, per "Sulphur" on 8.6.1829, with his wife Jane Pearson b. 1800 and four children; Jane b. 1824 (d. April 1837), Eliza b. 1825, Marion and one other.
Children born in colony; Edward George b. September 1829 at the military barracks Perth, (the first white child born there), a son b. August 1831, Ellen b. November 1835, William b. Jan 1838, Robert b. May 1839, and Thomas b. Aug 1841.
Discharged from the Army in March 1834 and opened the "United Services Tavern" in St George's Terrace where his wife also ran the first dairy in Perth (F.C. Irwin, page 51).
Jane took out an inn licence in January 1833 for the "Wheatsheaf Inn" and subsequently an Inn in Howick Street named the "Criterion".
In 1832 was granted 26 acres of land in the 'interior' and Perth Town Lots V1, 2, 3, 4 & Q14. In 1836 owned and leased 400 acres at the Avon River.
Family resided in Perth (1837 Census).
In 1845 was charged with soliciting Rollands to commit perjury on his behalf but was acquitted (March 1845 I.). Sold Perth Town Lot Q14 in April 1848.
Mavis married Ernest Alfred "Ernie" PATTON , son of Douglas William Arthur PATTON  15 and Ina Moorabbee COCKS ,16 on 15 Feb 1936 in Merlynston, Melbourne, Victoria. Ernest was born on 17 Feb 1918 in Broadford, Victoria, Australia, died on 7 Mar 2009 in Amaroo Aged Care, Euroa, Victoria, Australia at age 91, and was buried on 13 Mar 2009 in Old Longwood Cemetery, Longwood, Victoria, Australia.
